Turnberry Design

Project details

This project began with a strong architectural foundation and a clear intention: to shape each space through materiality, light, and proportion, creating a home that feels both refined and deeply livable.

The entry sets the tone. A double-height foyer opens the experience with scale and presence, anchored by a cascading crystal chandelier that adds movement and reflection. Bespoke wall moldings add structure and rhythm, guiding the eye toward the staircase. This becomes a defining feature, designed with a light, open structure, integrated lighting, and a slim dark metal railing that introduces contrast without adding visual weight.

The main living areas were designed to feel open yet grounded. A full-height natural stone fireplace serves as the central anchor, complemented by custom dark-wood shelving. To soften the architecture, we introduced curved seating in textured fabrics, creating a more relaxed and inviting atmosphere.

The kitchen balances scale and detail. A large waterfall-edge island becomes the focal point, paired with classic cabinetry and a custom hood that brings a sense of tradition into a more contemporary setting. The adjacent dining area continues this dialogue, with a long, dark-toned table placed beneath tiered chandeliers that add depth and structure overhead.

In the private areas, the design shifts toward a more intimate and layered experience. The primary bedroom is centered around a large arched feature, softly backlit to highlight the natural stone and create a warm, ambient glow. This element anchors the full wall composition, bringing together millwork, vertical paneling, and a built-in ledge behind the bed.

The fireplace adds warmth and presence while maintaining the space’s balance. The room is finished with soft, sculptural furnishings and a restrained palette, allowing the architecture, light, and materials to lead.

This sense of continuity carries into the primary bathroom, where richly veined stone wraps the floors and walls, creating a calm and immersive environment. A freestanding tub and a walk-in shower with integrated niches are positioned to feel both functional and elevated, with every element considered in relation to light, proportion, and material.

The walk-in closet is designed with a boutique approach, featuring glass-front cabinetry, integrated lighting, and a central island that supports both organization and display.

Throughout the home, each additional space was given its own identity while staying connected to the overall language. The cigar lounge leans into warmth, with darker tones, detailed partitions, and comfortable seating. In contrast, the gamer suite introduces a more contemporary edge through lighting and texture. Even the utility spaces were thoughtfully considered, with deeper tones, refined hardware, and custom details that elevate everyday use.

From the material transitions to the layered lighting, every decision was made to create a home that feels cohesive, intentional, and effortless to live in.
